へ · he
When used inside vocabulary, 『へ』 is read as 『へ』 (he). It is also used as a grammatical particle to indicate direction or destination. When marking direction, it is written as 『へ』 and pronounced 『え』 (e). This particle answers the question 'where to?' and is often used with verbs of movement. For example: 『がっこうへ いく』 (gakkō e iku, 'I go to school').
